Project Description
SEDAR 41 addressed the stock assessments for South Atlantic red snapper and gray triggerfish. The first Data Workshop was held August 4-8, 2014 in Charleston, SC. A working paper submitted after the first Data Workshop questioned the validity of data collected during the early years of the Southeast Region Headboat Survey (SRHS). The Data Workshop Panel could not reach consensus on a way forward with the assessment until the headboat data was fully evaluated and the extent and nature of the reporting issues were determined and addressed. All SRHS data and any data streams that rely on this data are preliminary and subject to change based on the outcome of the headboat data evaluation. A second abbreviated Data Workshop was held August 4-6, 2015 in Charleston, SC; the Assessment Workshop was held December 14-17, 2015 in Morehead City, NC; and the Review Workshop was March 15-18, 2016 in Charleston, SC. For more information, please contact the SEDAR Coordinator for this project, Julia Byrd: julia.byrd@safmc.net.
NOTE: SEDAR Working papers document the methods, datasets, and preliminary analyses that are under consideration at the various workshops and therefore do not necessarily represent final consensus opinions of workshop participants. Working paper findings and methods may change following workshop review. Working papers should not be cited without author permission.
